Video Description:
Cream Reunion Tour - May 2005 - Royal Albert Hall
Eric Clapton was sick with the flu when they recorded this, but when snaps into that solo, man it's amazing. If I didn't already play the guitar, this solo'd make me want to play. Also, I hadn't noticed how much Clapton's voice had inproved since the 60's, but it's an amazing Change.

Clapton to me seems to be the only one who improved with age, Bruce and Baker seem to have lost some of their energy.

Vocally, Clapton has definitely improved. I has slowed on guitar (he admits it), but he hasn't lost anything. He shows as much emotion as he ever has, and he continues to pull amazing solo's out of thin air. He is the number 1 guitarist of all time for more than one reason. In live performances, he never plays the same solo twice, ever. Everything is improvised, and incredibly smooth. The fact that he can do it at over the age of 60 and still place this quickly is truly amazing.

I'm open to argue it. There are many many great guitarists out there. SRV is a strong competitor for the #1 spot, as is Hendrix. They're both dead, so it's impossible to tell how influential they could be. Had they lived, I'm certain one of them would be #1. Clapton is #1 on so many different levels. He's influential in blues, rock, country, jazz, and reggae. He's a 3 time R&R Hall of Fame inductee, and could be brought in another 2 times. Rugshort, who did you have in mind for #1?
