it was an analagy for how good he was at guitar. fact is, he has a very poorly documented life and its a FOLK STORY, which makes him even more legendary. if you truly believe he "sold his soul to the devil" you're either really gullible and well believe anything or a little too overly religious.

he was great. a great guitar player, the quintessential acoustic bluesman. Probably the best acoustic player who ever lived-- whether you realize it or not, he and other great bluesman are the only reason rock and roll is what it is today... it all evolved from blues.

troll? otherwise your not very clever, Robert Johnson is subject to a great amount of "Blues Quackery".. blues history more so than most other has to be looked at very sceptically. The only sure thing are the record dates backed up by the records themselves, even pictures do not count for much as these were often HEAVILY retouched (as is seen in the case of Blind Lemon Jefferson) or dubious in some other way.
