If you're talking about how he's making the guitar squeal, I believe that's a pitch harmonic. It took me awhile to get ahold of it. When you hit the string with your pick you immediately hit it with the side of your thumb. You have to sort of flick your wrist out. With a little practice it can become second nature to you. I would recommend doing it on the top string(low e), second or third fret. They're the easiest for me but my friend Josh does them easier on the lower strings(g or b).
