I heard about this on another board, and I'm Ashkernazi Jewish on both sides and my Grandpa fought for the Allies- thought this would be weird and maybe just offensive.

It is utterly brilliant, but if you want to get utterly sinistered-out by all that, have a look at "Tomorrow Belongs To Me". God, that isn't funny but it scared the hell out of me!

Great old-fashioned choreography. If you think the number is stupid and offensive, it is. The plot required same. Zero Mostel, who is shown in the clip, was blacklisted due to the activities of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. Ten years later the alcoholic McCarthy was censured by the Senate and dead due to alcoholism. Zero Mostel won a Tony for Fiddler on the Roof.
