i really love the actors they chose for the cast.
rob is good looking, idky people r mostly bashing him. id have to say im a little wary on the actors they chose for emmet and jasper. but they may suprise me and everyone else.

don't you remember when bella asks edward how to kill a vampire?
he says you have to strip them to pieces or something and then burn it,

Okay, one, the reason they probably made Laurent black is to have some racial diversity in the cast.

Meyer is Mormon & in that religion, no one with dark skin is favored in God's eyes. In fact, only those who are fair & blonde are God's "chosen". It's why Rosalie is the "most beautiful woman in the world". So don't expect Meyer to have a "world" view of vampires when her religion pretty much says anyone darker than khaki is cursed & the lowest of the low. Is it right? Hell no, but it's her loss, because all races & colors are beautiful in the eyes of God. Even vampires...I've hopes. Peace4real

So, Laurent's color in the movie is strictly mechanics. Meyer's world is lily & people who live like that rarely change. Her religion also explains why Bella feels she's so incomplete w/o Edward b/c women have very LOW roles in Mormon. Not criticising, folks, just stating what is. You judge for yourself if you dig that or not. I personally don't & think Bella is a weak role model for girls. But hey, it's fantasy. "I could kill you." "Oh, but I still love you!" WTF? ::shrug::

And before the fan girls start coming after me, understand that I dig the story for what it is, enterainment, no more, no less. There's nothing intelligent about it, there's nothing uber great, it's just a vampire story and I love vampires. So, it's cool. I'm not disrespecting your novels here, just pointing out a few things. There's a lot more to talk about in Twilight other than "Like, OMG, he's sooooo hotttt!!" Ugh. C'mon. Or are fangirls blinded by the pretty, glittery vampires?
