Safar Barlik ( the Exile), 1966: Set around 1914 when Lebanon was under the Ottoman Empire rule. This film took full use of the scenery of the countryside in Lebanon.- the film was shot on location in as many as eleven towns and villages. The old cities and costumes are authentic.

Dancers all over the Middle East use zills, or sejat as they are called in Arabic...or at least they use to. Not dancing with zills is the fashion right now, especially in Egypt and Lebanon.

I see. And believe me I ve always been among the ones advocating justice for the victims of the "American" genocide by the "new Americans". I think that s a heritage Americans will EVENTUALLY have to take if they want to be credible in denouncing genocide and inhumanity.. doesnt change the fact iraq sadly wasnt a paradise for the huge majority of Iraqis..

This dancer is very insipid and boring. Talk about simple steps: a beginner can do them. But that's not my problem. She has no charisma, no stage personality, no expression, nothing. Obviously just a decorative presence.
