There 3.5 million homeless people in the United States .
In large cities, it is commonplace to see the homeless begging in parks and on street corners.
In Springfield , on the other hand, the problem is out of sight, out of mind.
The admittedly low estimate of 600 homeless in Springfield is forgotten.
Some unfortunate 250 don't even have a place to sleep each night, residing in abandoned buildings, woods, and caves, lacking the basic benefit the others lucky enough to receive hospitality staying in local shelters have.
Come this winter, as shelters like the Victory Mission and the Missouri Hotel fill up,
even more will be left out in the cold.
This short documentary takes an inside look at the problem from the point of view of the forgotten - the homeless themselves.
