this really is nothing new.. people have been doing this for years, all hes done is used a few guitar effects. even so, it was pretty lame the first time it was done, let alone the billionth. this really does fail hard.

He's certainly talented at playing the instrument... but I have to say that songwriting is kind of weak. I mean sure it sounds good but after a while it reminds of Dragonforce-esque wankery. I prefer Andy McKee's playing much more, he can really nail the songwriting aspect.
