I think erosromeo is referring to Wayne Hussey who co-wrote the album "First and Last and Always" with Andrew Eldritch. Hussey went on to form "The Mission", best known track being "Wasteland"...

This is the track I remember most from those days. It went something like this, I heard and loved this track, dug out more and a short time afterwards I was shoegazing at my newly bought DM's. Happy days.

The first 3-4 EP's are essential (Roses, Daffodils, Pengiuns and Shark cover). I think there's a compilation album of these now. First 2 albums worth getting. Going Blank Again spoiled by single Leave Them All Behind. After that it's all pretty bland and average and you'd need to be really committed to want to investigate. A clich
é I know but with Ride it really is a case of "the early stuff is the best"

I also say 11/10. Smile (made up of the 1st EPs Ride and Play) is a bit heavier than any of the other stuff. Nowhere is essential and often refered to as one of the best shoegaze albums. The Today Forever EP that follows is also fantastic. Going Blank Again adds some power-pop elements into their sound. Some people say Carnival of Light and Tarantula's 60's and 70's style songs are hit or miss, but I still dig them. Start from the bottom and work up to their later stuff, that's what I did.

Where do these ... ( 2 months ago by fassndink)
Where do these videos with the interviews come from ? I agree with everything everyone says. Everything was amazing until that second album. Then it was patchy. Reminds me of moving to London and going to gigs, meeting people in bands and being able to fit into skinny jeans. No other music has been able to top the early 90s shoegazer stuff. I've kinda lost touch with indie music, can anyone tell me where these videos (with the interviews at the start) come from.

Nice, this is from the video "the story of creation," which of course is the Creation records with Alan Mc. Love it, with Ride, MBV, and Primal Scream.
