With all due respect to your comment, I think you're in error about Marvin Gaye playing the drums on this recording. Actually around this time Marvin was recording full time on his own product, you are correct about his playing for the Miracles early recordings. But Marvin was not as good as Benny Benjamin who actually played the drums on this release, "Papa Zita" as they called him was the main drummer at this point at Motown. He was one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Thank you, but it seems after a little more digging I am only half right and half wrong. Apparently both Benny Benjamin and Marvin Gaye were drumming on the studio recording. This is new to me because I've always prided myself in being amongst Marvin Gaye's biggest fans. Marvin didn't mention this in his authorized biography Divided Soul, or any thing else I've read on him. That's real suprising...I stand humbly corrected.

He's playing on the same riff though, so I don't think there's a reason to play a harp with another tuning.
