I personally haven't heard of a white musician in the Arkestra. But that is not to say that they where not "allowed". It's just that Sun Ra's music (like free jazz) would attract more black musicians than white in America, because it was seen as "their music", a continuation of the blues of the ghettos. Note for example, that free jazz influenced greatly Europe, where it was played nearly always by whites.

If you are talking about the one at the end of the video, it is called "Variations of Kohoutek Themes". I have only found one recording of it. Isn't it the coolest thing ever?

Actually the song at the end of the video is "Discipline 27-II" and it's found on many Sun Ra albums.

Thanks. It was released as "Variations of Kohoutek Themes" on the album Concert for the Comet Kohoutek. I only found one live album with it under the title "Discipline 27-II". Could you name a few others? I really need a recording of this.

They opened for the MC5..and they were white PANTHERS...so that's..close I guess.hahaha
