I don't vew aikido as an art of war, but as an expression of the tao. Properly done, aikido is effortless.
Funny how many aikidoka I've known are.
I'm a 6'7" 265 lb man, and I learned aikido because when forced to defend myself I could really *seriously* hurt someone or easily kill them, but aikido has taught me how to gently, swiftly and effortlessly make someone reconsider their aggression. And I have had to use it many times in the street
s, as a big guy I'm a target for people who have something to "prove".
That was great!!!!!
Briliant translation!!!!

you cannot adapt around something you dont understand. Aikido is about understanding how the universe works and making desisions based on the fact that we are all subjected in some part to the principles of the universe.
There is nothing on this planet that is new. Everything is an expression of something that is already known.
make every sacrife possible "clinton" and the times ask for a woman who is just going about her business content living life her way without sacrifise "parlin" and the universe mocks all of us and makes fools of us believing that we can prepare for or control the outcome of our destiny.

Cross training is no different than eating icecream. Sometimes you get tired of cookiedough and just want a little sherbert or frozen yoguart or maybe a shake. But out of respect for your teacher ,you dont have to drop the wrappers on the floor at your main dojo.
Apples: Self defense is to defend myself, Self protection, and to preserve my being. Oranges: Fighting is to break things and give you maximum pain until i feel better about myself for repaying you for your offense. Aikido techniques could be used for both but its philosophical component, movem
ents, curriculum and flow, instills peace, and forgiveness. Get with the program man. fighting is so 70's
Plain English, Aikido works great against strikers. A striker usually gets the first hit in because he practises striking most of the time. Of course his hands are quicker. But, after the first strike a trained aikido person will slam the person face down on the floor. Aikido is a battlefield a
rt that lends itself to grappling.

from your thoughtless mind.
Make no mistake on that! Now, figurtively speaking,i would show you Aikido love. :) Aikido is perfect but i am not. You crossed the line with that question. I dont mind but this is a grazing place for sheep, not wolves. Wolves smell wolves. Lets reflect on aikido instead.
This room exist so that we all could ask questions and laugh but it is unfair if you are sincere and we are hard on you.
It is easy to think that you should understand this. Its been so long since i was a beginner that i forget to show you equal consideration. Sorry about that.
