The sea ice at the North Pole is only a few feet thick. It floats on an ocean that is 14,000 feet deep. And it's cracking under our feet. A global warming expert suggests what to do... Everything you hear -- all the chugging and huffing and banging -- is the ice beneath us.

Years to come..? That's what you like to think. The avidance is not hard to prove, it is just people like you that don't want listen. You have to see the hole picture. How many threes did the planet have before and how many threes do the planet have today? Nearly nothing and what do the threes do? they don't only take care of the Co2, no they do many things. The Global warming is not only the ice melting, there is many things that we HUMANS are doing that is making the future wherry hard for us.

Meh...pimples are caused by global warming. Its becoming a fad religion that will probably be called man made global cooling in 20 years. You show an environmentalist past newspapers where the scientific community says, global warming, later global cooling, later global warming, next global cooling. Don't you think that if we can't predict the weather a few days out its absolutley impossible to predict the climate decades in the future? They thought it would be much hotter now, ehhh! wrong again

everybody chill out for goodness sakes, all this jibber jabber about the ice cracking, basically about 20 years ago, david attenborough was filming there when a chubby member of the film crew tripped over a shoelace and accidently headbutted the ice, it was only a small crack at first but has grown in time. dave informed me that he was gonna go back there on his two weeks holiday and fill it back up with some concrete as he felt a little guilty about it.

nah.. the weather we have been having lately.. theres no explanation for that.. i mean, common hail in july.. GOLF ball sizes in Ontario. A FLOOD in nebraska, and I Iowa.. one of the dryest places you could ever go.. this is no sham.. but oyu can go on thinking that.. we are screwed though.

I lived in Northwest Alaska for four years on the arctic circle. My students created a documentary on this (on my channel) - and we interviewed Alaska natives up there who have lived through this. For people who think global warming is an illusion, you should really listen to what native people - who have lived their whole lives on the ice feel about this. Paul

Norhpole is gone this year. In Argentina sciencetist is stunned how fast the gletchers in Argentina melts.
when the icecaps on sea is gone the tempureture increases faster on the poles, course the seawater absorbs the heat from the sun.
The world tempereture is still increasing fast.
All this leads only too one conclusion. The icecaps on Greenland, Southpole and other places will melt in a increasing fast rate.
So the sealvl will start too rise now. Make no mistake about that.

There is absolutely no sound provenance of Global warming beyond the temperature shifts that are cyclical based upon The Sun's output. Nor is there a material link between man & Climate Change. oops, nice repeat of al gore's book BUT the oceans have already been much higher than now, in fact 8ft higher just 3000 yrs ago, and the planet has cooled last yr - how embarrassing for global warming - who's to say the planet isn't recovering from the mini ice age of the 1700s still??

the french revolution happened as a direct result from the starvation caused during that mini ice age - the planet was much warmer and oceans were 8ft higher during the times of the greeks - "global warming" has caused increases measured in pitiful cms, the planet is fine and nobody can "prove" that this slight warming is anything BUT a natural occurence

true, the planet has seasons within it's self i guess but on a mass scale of tens of thousands of years.. just kinda scary to see a rapid change in the past 50 years when you see the poles melting away.. with all the coal and co2 emisions from the 19th and 20th centuries, i'm sure we'll be fine but we don't wana push our luck only scares me when i think of the runaway greenhouse effect like Venus has..thanks for the reply.

the problem with global warming theories is that they assume this temp or one 10 yrs ago is the right temp for the planet - earth has been in cont' warming since the last ice age, has it not? how do we know we aren't returning to the proper/ warmer temp of the middle ages? we don't, we don't know anything really - what is the right temp or even that human activity has done one damn thing

In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.
Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of space research at St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun. Source: National Geographic News February 28, 2007
