I think that the incident in Chernobyl was the biggest mistake of the communism. I mean putting politics as head of Nuclear Powerstation isn't that smart. Watch the Discovery documentary and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
Last but not least I think that with great responsibility and modern techs we CAN and HAVE TO use the nuclear energy as our primary source.

As long as we don't discover any way to perform cold fusion with hydrogen, which isn't potentially dangerous and whose results are safe materials, we should, in all the world, stop, or at least reduce, the production of nuclear energy. We have the actual means for doing that, and we have the alternatives. It's just that powerful people do not want this to happen. Fermi and Einstein didn't discover nuclear energy to rot and pollute this world, or to waste lives. We should care more.
