Wat he does here is extremely daring, I think this got him fired at the VPRO (a Dutch progressive TV Station) This is satire, not serious, mind you!!!! This man is always (almost) crossing the limit, to see how ppl react.

WIE means WHAT in ... ( 1 month ago by Rezje84)
WIE means WHAT in english. So the right translation of "Wissen sie wie ich bin" is: Do you know WHAT i am. Robby Muntz (the guy in the video) made this mistake because he's dutch. And 'wie' has a different meaning in holland then in germany.

No, actually WIE = HOW The phrase "Wissen sie, wie ich bin?" doesn't make much sense in German. It is not equivalent to "Do you know how I am?" either.

In this case, it would probably be proper to translate it as "Do you know who I am?" Wie is actually "how," but this word is associated with names elsewhere in the German language: one says, for example, "Wie heisst du?" ("How are you called?")
As to whether this ... ( 2 weeks ago by DSFARGEG00)
As to whether this is a misspeaking by the actor, I would think so. He should probably be saying "Wissen sie wer ich bin?"
