William Gibson uses it in one of his novels in reference to a "gomi sensei" or master of kipple. Sorry about the vagueness of the reference but it is a long time since I read it and my books are in storage.

and Gibson is another writer who is becoming more relevant. He coined the term 'cyberspace' didn't he? The way we think of the internet as 'websites' 'firewalls' 'worm programmes', they all seem to be influenced by the language Gibson used as well as they way he though of the space between computers as a virtual universe. Two great writers. Gibsin will have a revival, it's nearly 20 years since those Cyberspace novels came out, a revival in 10 years, assured.

Just finished re-reading 'Flow My Tears,..." I have to say, it still packs the punch it must've had when published in the Vietnam War aftermath--the amassing division between the american subcultures is a problem that is becoming ever more present with each headline about abortion, questions of certain candidates' personal beliefs and credo. How much further will society delve into its hubris and arrogance, before becoming a monster state run on paranoia like Dick's? Philip K. Dick is MY VALIS.

I'm so glad this had been uploaded. I taped it when it got originally broadcast, but someone borrowed it and never gave me it back. 'They don't make 'em like this one no more': I even wrote to the Beeb years ago to get a copy and got a card back saying all the originals were 'lost'. I love the adverts in it, for the PKD products.
