I stayed at Pop Cent. in Jan. '07, I was wondering what the heck was up with that. You could walk the foot bridge but it just ended. At least the bridge is a quiet place to go when you need some "me" time:)

They were still in the "final touches" mode when I worked there and I hope that when we go back during Earth Day (wedding anniversary) that they will be done cos we are going to stay there and I would like to see what became of these.

I believe they are turning them all into family suites (that is what I read). Once that is done, I think they should do a 2000s section that is a value-priced Disney Vacation Club...

It seemed just like they abandoned it. when you look at aerial pictures they have it all planned out. It will be the 1900's, 1910's,1920's, 1930's, and 1940's when the new construction is finished. Don't know why they stoppped they adding a huge new building onto the comtemporary

The huge new building is the new Disney Vacation Club Tower at the Contemporary Resort... Disney has not announced it yet but it is quite obvious thats what it is, I have seen the resort layout and proposed art renderings.
Also they stopped consturction here because of the drop in tourism after 9/11. There are rumors now though that they have re started construction and are turning the rooms into the family suites that are now in the All Star Music Resort.

well there arent working on it anytime soon. i wish they would. im a construction manager for disney and just got shipped out for a new project in disneyland. it would be nicer to have a job back in orlando

isnt this sad....when i asked at Pop Century last month about this, the CM (who was a CP) said that they hadnt decided if they needed any more hotels and this is why they didnt complete it...

just stayed at pop last wknd and had a clear view of the building from my room. real creepy, no matter how many times i see it. i wish they would bring it to life. until then, it's disney dead end resaort.

Actually I had heard a rumor they were going to possibly turn this into any all-suites family resort. Not sure if this is true, again this is just a rumor I heard.
