The French refused to give Oprah Winfrey the diva treatment she expected: keeping a boutique open after hours just for her. Imagine ! Who does she think she is, no special treatments in France, whatever your colour, or the size of your bank account ! Vive la France, Jos
éphine would agree.

Before everyone was ... ( 6 months ago by dezdog6)
Before everyone was graduated to Black, I'm sure she called herself a Negro. There's nothing wrong with that word. I take offense to Caucasion but does that stop anyone from calling me that? Hell no! I'm politcally INCORRECT, get over it! Long before you were born these words have changed for everyone, I've never used the ones still popular in the SE. When I was marching the streets for equality you were smaller than an embryo. I stand by my statement.

Well regardless, this is 2008! Its not what you say it is how you say it and I think you could've expressed the same comment and it may have been better if the word Black or African American was used in the place of the N word. There are people who do not like the word at all I am one of them. I for one realize there was history and that word was more common than water, but again this in 2008 and you need to realize that it is still offensive.
I also realize that ... ( 6 months ago by dezdog6)
I also realize that people now are getting WAY too fucking sensitive, too! I watched a comedy routine last night from that great Black lady named Monique Parker. She must've said the word nigger more times in 1 hour than my Uncle Chuck did in all of his 75 yrs! Maybe YOU need to lecture her & other Blacks about this, not the Crackers, ok?

Even if the ... ( 5 months ago by Liqia)
Even if the intention is not to offende, calling someone "Preto" can be considered a fault. In this photodoc, when we traduce "Casamento de Preto" as "Nigger Wedding" the meaning is to show how racist this title is. I know that in the USA "nigger" is a very bad to call black people, african north/south americans, and I want people to understand the racist title that has been given to this show that Baker and the great actor Grande Otelo performed together.
Hello. I would like ... ( 5 months ago by Liqia)
Hello. I would like to clear this issue to everyone that gets to watch this video. This photodoc has been produced in Brazil, South America. In Brazil, the word "Black" is traduced as "Preto", and when one qualifies an African descendent as "preto", it CAN be considered racism ou disrespect, depending on how it is expressed or the situation. The formal way to call african descendents in portuguese is "Negro".

Yes, the word ' ... ( 5 months ago by dezdog6)
Yes, the word 'niggar' is very bad in the US. It means 'the lowly people but was given to Blacks exclusively. It would be very nice if Blacks quit using it for each other, as that tends to offend me! I've never used it except like now to describe it. Just like I've never used the slang that racists use for Italians, Mexicans, or the Asians. I'll leave that to the 'crackers' in the Southeast of the USA.
IS this video ... ( 5 months ago by dezdog6)
IS this video current? Its 1920s or sooner. I meant it in a friendly way like my Black friends on the Southside of Chicago who call me Ofey girl or Whitey or Crackers, its not my preferred nickname but they seem to like calling me that. They called each other negro! Or if they get irritated with each other, its 'nigga.' Since when is NEGRO the new 'n' word?
