In general, that's true. I thought the Batman Begins trailer was awful, but the movie's great. But, combined, taking the trailer, the words of critics AND regular moviegoers, you can often come to a rather accurate take on a movie. And it's just not a movie I'm interested in seeing. It looks like it was made for young kids or people with ADD, and that's what many people have said, including some people I know. I wonder what it would have been like if it was all CGI.

This is not a smart-ass statement so don't take it that way, but, if it has live actors in it, then it's not all CGI. The upcoming Clone Wars movie/shows looks to be all CGI. It could have been better/different if they made it CGI animation.

Hi Funkeh, I just opened my message with that, because nowadays, on youtube, you don't know what kind of responses you're going to get. Just go on to express an opinion, and you get wild-eyed fanboys who can't take any sort of critique, and they resort to juvenile, narrow-minded name-calling. But anyway... back to Speed Racer. I just saw the movie as an opportunity to go all the way with the CGI, but Hollywood wanted known faces in it. To me, Speed Racer would be the hook, not the actors.

I would they rather have just went ahead and made it all animation. Either like the upcoming Star Wars: Clone Wars movie, or do more traditional animation. that they mixed live action with CGI is what lessened my interest in seeing it. Sometimes movies have so much (TOO much) CGI, you think, why not just make it all CGI. Cartoons done in live action usually don't cut it. The action in Clone Wars was better than that in Star Wars Episode III because of the nature of animation.

I'm sure there's some entertainment value to it, and perhaps I'll rent it one of these days. But it does somewhat make me think of 300. 300 looked good, but it was very shallow. Did you see 300?

No, I've never seen it. Many people say this film is shallow but I have to disagree - it pretty much has the same morals and paths to it's storyline just like any other Disney film. It just has a lot better visuals, that's all.

The animated cartoon of Japan is accurate, and delicate.
