My Irish blood may be thinned, but this video still brought a tear to my eye. The Irish struggle for liberty is inspiring in so many ways. It is my personal belief that those who are not willing to suffer for their freedom do not deserve it, and the Irish have more than earned their freedom.

What are you on about. I'm an Irish republican and from what I have seen the provos gave up on the war and Gerry and the boys took the pound from Westminster. Every Irish republican should these days recite 'For what died the sons of Roisin.' I don't like them but up the irregulars.

(b)Were the guns forcibly removed from them?
So if both your answers are no they must have had free will in decommissioning the guns, therefore they gave up. Call it what you want (decommissioning/giving up) but they have no guns now, what is a paramilitary army without guns?

No they dont no they werent they aren't a paramilitary any more they are Sinn Fein and are a legitamite political party which fights diplomatically they are working ultimately to secure a 32 county republic through peaceful means

I don't know if you can equate the terrorists from the Troubles with the early days of the Irish Republic. Of course throughout history Irish rights have been trampled. But blowing innocent people up with nail-studded bombs is not noble, nor does it advance a cause.

This song was written by tommy makem.Whilst driving betwwen dundalk and newry he seen an old woman crossing the road about 200yards from the northern border.This woman reminded him on Ireland(Ireland historically has been personified as a beautiful woman)and the four fields represent the four Irish Provinces!'one of them is in bondage' refers to Ulster(even though 1/3 is located in the republic!)
