Dean and the Beach Boys of the 1960s. This may be more about style than communism. The Beetles made there version of many Rock and Pop songs of the 50s and 60s.

Democracy and communism not only can stay together. They MUST stay together. There is no true communism without democracy (as Trotsky said) and democracy without equality (and communism) is senseless. Trotsky said "Communism needs democracy as human body needs oxygen" (or stg like this :-) ). Trotsky wanted to democratise leninist regime in USSR and spread democratic communism around globe. I hope it could be succesful. Stalin was just bloody dictator discrediting communism, not true communist!!
