I was introduced to Jimi Hendrix at the age of 11, i'm now 27, and a day never passes when i have not heard a Jimi track, either on my iPod into work, or on Vinyl at home. The man (RIP) is a pure legend in his own right, can never be compared to another musician out there. The way he made the instrument talk, is simply mind blowing, He is the man that made me pick up a guitar and start learning.

I don't think it is a well known jimi fact. I've read 2 biographies and have 3 documentaries, and nowhere does he say that. What he does say is that he's talking about the spirit of women as a whole, all the women he's ever been with. He also said that it could be interpreted by the listener to be about any woman that means something to them. The original little wing used the chord structure to "angel", which was about his mother. Maybe that's where this idea got started.

well "little wing" is a Cherokee god or something for Love i believe. His brother Leon Hendrix said it was written about his Dead mother, but other people say Hendrix wrote it after the Monterey pop festival because of the mood it put him in or something.

The video containing this incredible audio is "Jimi... and Foxy Lady" by Terry Daun. This rare recording was made inside the vocal booth while Jimi sang... and partied? You decide.
