I love orcas, and hate what these people did to them. But everyone, stop making racist comments about asians. If we view the people of a country from the acts of a few: Just today I read a news story about an Iowa pig factory. I won't mention what they did in this comment, as its enough to make you puke. If you want to know then look up PETA Iowa pig factory, though I wouldn't suggest it. Anyway, the point is, stop dissing asians. dis the people who do the horrible acts.

Thank you solosong13. BlueVoice has repeatedly posted that racist comments will be removed. We work closely with several Japanese organizations to stop this. It is only a few fishermen and the Japanese Fishing Cooperative who are responsible for this. Most Japanese people don't even know this is going on. So please, we value your comments, but won't allow racism or profanity.

My oppinion is the same like solosong13's! And this video is really cruel since you can recognize how afraid the animals are. I heard that Kamogawa Seaworld is now the only Aquarium in Japan which still has Orcas. And I was told that they were all born there..

It's not the video that is cruel. It is the people who capture orca, take them from their families and force them to live in small cement tanks for the rest of their short lives.

On September 19th, 2008 the last of the Orcas captured at Taiji in February 1997 died at the Nagoya Public Aquarium. Her name was Coo, she was 18 years old and had spent 11 of her years in captivity.

the people who are to blame are those that purchased the orcas. if the fishermen couldn't sell them, then they wouldn't capture them in the first place.

it's a big deal! they're destroying those inocent animals' lives. and not only the ones captured, but the rest of the pod that was released. there are no more females so that pod is going to die out.

No, they are ALL to blame, including the tourists who pay to go to the marine parks. It's all wrong, and everyone should know it. Those who don't live in ignorance and need to be educated.

Thank you, Blue Voice, for continuing to speak for those magnificent cetaceans who cannot speak to humans about their pain and misery inflicted upon them by us. And thanks for keeping this important issue public, and for spreading the word about the greed and senseless cruelty of the marine parks and their lackeys who cantinue to capture and imprison their fellow mammals for ignorant tourists to pay money gape at. As usueal with human cruelty, it all comes down to money.

Barbaric. As long as it's sustainable, I usually don't have a problem with things like this. However, I draw the line at any type of whale, dolphin, or great ape.(I don't like wolf hunting either) These animals have demonstrated considerable intelligence and social complexity. Exploiting them is wrong. Of course, the Japanese are partly responsible for almost wiping out several types of tuna...

Killer whales have been known to do some pretty nasty things to other whales. They aren't innocent, but most intelligent things aren't. However, they have certain traits that put them very high on my life scale rankings. Intelligence, complex social interaction, organization, speed and versatility... They shouldn't be corralled like this and sent off to theme parks to die in cramped cages...

I've downloaded this but have yet to watch it all. It makes me sick to think this still goes on. Japan uses the "research/science" angle to kill thousands of whales every year. It is an outrage and needs to stop. We know that whales are intelligent, social animals who live in family groups and have a language in which they communicate to one another. All of that was learned by obseving whales not killing them.

Not innocent? Are you serious? They are 100 percent, unequivocally innocent.
Orcas are not whales. They are oceanic dolphins. Occasionally, they feed on other whales for food. Similarly, they occasionally feed on seals for food. However, you are right in the second portion of your post. They should not even be harassed, much less killed/penned. The Japanese who carry
out these heinous activities have totally lost my respect.

Eat and kill whales/dolphins is a Notion of National PRIDE. They hate foreigner correcting their wrong doing. Japanese government said "EATING WHALE/DOLPHINS IS JAPAN HERITAGE
THE WEST IS THREATENING IT" They are putting a war againts us Anti -WHALERS using whales. Its not because the love of culture. Its just human being Greedy, arrogant and ignorant.

Did anyone notice how these mammals did not attack any of the japanese in the water? Why do you think that is? Because they are civilized and respectful of our species ironic considering how they were treated. Those orcas could have easily killed many of those people, jumped those nets and boats they were complacent and cooperative and look what that got them.
