Video Description:
Toolroom Knights return with their next instalment with 2 of Europe's heavy weight DJs -- German dance legend Tom Novy and Spanish house aficionado Wally Lopez.
'Toolroom Knights' was born out of Toolroom Records' rapidly growing club brand. Mixed by the label's main artists, these double mix CDs perfectly reflect Toolrooms position as one of the foremost House labels in the World. 'Toolroom Knights' events bring the sound of Toolroom Records to the club
bing masses, hosting parties at key venues Worldwide to create a unique party atmosphere that so many other 'label nights' lack. Make sure you check out a party near you. First up is Tom Novy -- this larger than life DJ needs no introduction -- with hits like 'Your Body' coupled with his Space res
idency and numerous radio and TV presenting stints, this man is in demand. The tracklisting may come as a surprise for Tom fans, as this mix definitely showcases Tom's darker, more mature side. One thing that Tom does retain throughout the mix is pure emotion... Tom says "I really like what Toolroo
m do so it was great to be asked to mix the new album. I love the track selection and am really pleased how its turned out." Starting off with 'In the beginning', this is an old-school flavour that moves on to the beautifully orchestrated 'Is this for Love' by Kaliber. Tom can't resist a little
bit of electro-funk with the Bit Crushers ft Headley 'Movin' too fast' -- pure clubby goodness. Then the beats roll with Novy
Bahil's 'Fluxcompensator' which is a real uplifting number that just gets you grooving - a real sexy bassline then kicks in with Marusha's 'Kick it' -- a real Space terrace track.
The mood changes with Tube
Berger present T.Y.W.O 'The young and wild ones' which takes on a more sinister darker twist then its predecessors. Tom maintains the sexiness with the tantalising Greg Cerrone ft Claudia Kennaugh's 'Invincible' -- a peaktime dancefloor monster that paves the way for the second part of Tom's mix with tracks from Orli
Martie and Dirt Crew's 'Raw'. Moving on to Nudisco's 'Ajowan' - a pumping, driving number which is home at the likes of DC10 and Space in the early hours of the morning. This is a seriously sexy track!! The plucky 'What U want' sneaks its way in and its techy brilliance is the perfect penultimate track on Tom's mix -- ending with Funkagenda's 'WTF' which is a heavy bass-laden track with bleapy sounds that get you all revved up. This is just straight down and dirty. The mix finishes on a high and is definitely one for you house heads out there.
Considered to be the most internationally renowned Spanish DJ and producer plus all round nice guy, Wally Lopez is a legendary party DJ. Head honcho of La Factoria Discos in Spain and responsible for a lengthy discography of productions and remixes, Wally rises to the occasion with a brilliant Too
lroom mix... Wally says, "I love playing at the Toolroom Knights parties, so this was a natural progression for me. I am really excited about the album and to be doing it with Tom is great, I have been playing his music since the mid-90s". Starting with 'Start to Finish' - a very cool track that l
ays the foundations for Wally's more peaktime mix that mixes seamlessly into King Unique's 'Yohkoh'. Wally's mix is definitely more acid-tinged with the magnificent track from Dada Life which gets you all hot and sweaty and Scary Grants 'What you ask for' is sheer deep house at its best -- simply s
tunning. The unmistakable voice of Dave Gahan sweeps over you with blissed-out swoosh's with that underlying Booka Shade bassline that knocks you for six! Wally then gets all techy with Roger Martinez
FunkuZ's 'Instigate' and Toolroom head honcho Mark Knight
Funkagena's 'Shogun' - a proper 3am track. Wally lays down his own 'Go Ahead' with its electro-tech beats and relentless groove which blends perfectly with Deadmau5's 'complications' and Lopez's minimal monster 'Wideband'. Back to the rolling beats with Riva
Bias's 'Remind' with its steel drum'esque sounds that melt into Dubfire's 'Emissions'. Workidz 'Washmachine' is simple but relentless -- it propels those dance weary bones on... ending on the highly charged Junkie XL ft Lauren Rocket's 'More' which is one of those tracks that just makes you want to jump up and down... you know the ones!
Label boss Mark Knight says "we asked Tom and Wally because we respect them both as producers and artists and they reflect the sound of Toolroom as a label."
