It's an interesting point that Montel makes. In Canada we have had almost 100 Canadians killed in Afghanistan. Every name is reported in the media across the country. Not just in the local area. I think it's important to get a reality check as to what society's priorities are. There seems to be too much emphasis these days on the lives of celebrities. It borders on obscene.

I'm not a Montel fan in the least. BUT, I will say that this is one of the coolest and most 'real' things i've ever seen on TV and for that I tip my hat to him. Now go back to your show and fire the old cook who thinks she can talk to the dead and start running your show like you are presenting yourself in this video and I'll watch you and maybe even buy the products that are advertised on your commercials.

it's good to know he brings attention to the 'individual' soldier through this device [heath ledger's death was culturally significant, granted], yet i was a little surprised to see he himself did Not know the names of any of the soldiers he brought up, and seems to be doing a 'do as i say, not as i do' preaching which is kind of bullshit, and i was also surprised to see today on television him promoting pharmaceutical companies.. montel is a beautiful demon! he's also the shit. one love haha

He freely admitted not knowing the names of the troop and said he was 'disgusted' at himself for not knowing. However he alsoindicated that his lack of knowledge as to their names was not through lack of trying: he clearly stated they he had sought to find their names through various media but had not been successful, further highlighting the lack of media coverage given to troop's deaths.
