Thank the gods you posted this. It is one of my favorites, all 17+ minutes of it. (The engineers just said, "Tell us when you're finished", and walked outside! My friends are SICK of hearing it!

my friend & i played this song full blast on a portable 8-track player at a vending company we worked at. it had to be played LOUD because of the machine noise in our shop. so we had Sister Ray and the cigarette tax stamp machine going full tilt when a jukebox guy (Earl, no less) walked in, pulled a gun, & plugged the player. it jumped off the machine where we set it up & half of it fell to the floor. Earl walked over & plugged it one more time (just to make sure) and left. true story. VU rule!

Sometime back in the mid/late Eighties, I snuck this song on at a party. Surprisingly, it managed to reach the 12-minute mark before a couple of girls took it off, and replaced it with "Synchronicity" by the Police. Thanks for posting it! This album helped get me through some tough times at college.
