| If legend holds true, the explosion was as real & big as it looks and took everyone else very much by surprise. Keith Moon bribed the stagehands into lettting him put gunpowder in his snare. The explosion caused irreparable damage to one of Townsend's eardrums. Pete practically punched Moon into a coma backstage afterwards. |

| John Entwhistle was actually a classically trained musician and probably couldn't bring himself to start going crazy. There is an anecdotal story that once he tried to get wild like the rest of them and his bandmates were furious because he was the one they could depend on being on the right note and they needed him as an anchor. |

| All the postings of this performance are from the 1979 film "The Kids Are Alright", but I seem to remember a version of this clip with a different ending. After the Who are finished, Tommy walked out not with the cheap prop guitar shown in this clip, but with the dreadnaught that he usually played. When Pete grabbed for it, Tommy jerked it away, saying "No! No!" Does anyone else remember another clip with a different ending? |
