You cant say one live performance is better than another, its all a matter of what you like. Yes Michael Stipe is a bit awkward, but personally I love that in him.

Of course you can compare. Longetivity has nothing got to do with quality of the music!
Surely REMs album 'Around the Sun' is testimont to that. They were around for a bit before they released that and it was a bit of a flop.
All I said was that when they play live they dont get the crowd going as well as other bands do.
I m actually goin to see them at the Oxegen Festival this year and just checked this out to see what im in for.
