That is absolutely beautiful! I've been considering a Kwan Yin tattoo myself for the same reason you got yours. My mother dedicated me to her when I was born. Course if I decide to go through with it, there's no other artist than Chris Garver for it.

I've been watching his work for years before he came on Miami Ink. His work is absolutely superb and he honestly is such a great guy. He makes the entire experience worth while. You won't regret it! Good luck!

Few questions-Does the shop use the autoclave (think thats what it was called) to sterilize their needles? Do they use anisthetics to help numb the pain a little bit or do I have to buy that stuff myself? Also what are their policies on celebrity tattoos? thnks

Any reputable tattoo shop uses the autoclave and has it checked weekly by sending samples to the clinic/hospital to ensure it is working. The equipment is sterlized... the needles are always brand new - never used more then once.

You can use numbing cream if you wish but they are not lisence to perform any sort of anestetics... You would need a doctor/nurse for that. The cream also simply because they will not risk an allergic reaction or worse.

They don't need to steralize the needle because they always open a new needle from an individual wraper. You can buy something yourself for the pain, but you can only use it after the tattoo is finished. But they use vaseline to lubricate the skin so it is less painful. And I am not sure about the celeb tattoos, but yeah, hope this helps!

The Policy on celebrity tattoos, I wish I can rephrase it in a better way. Celebrities are suing tattoo parlors for selling their images and they want royalties. I wish I could find that article and show it as proof but I am completely stumped on it.Some tattoo shops stopped selling images of celebrities because of this.

First I've heard of this but that's not to say it isn't true. I know they do them but I don't know if they have any special policy on doing them. You'd have to ask them directly.

having tattoos of goddess, gods, well, its not a great idea to have it on your body. WHY ? you are asking me, thinking im an idiot. Well, to have a tattoo of gods on your body, is something to think 10 times about. If you commit a sin, which we all do everyday, is even more sinful and well.... if you believe it deep enough, you will agree with me. But if you dont believe in what i say, fair enough. I understand. But nice tattoo of the goddess done by Chris.

Dragonfly... I truly believe that everyone has a right to their own opinion, so I do not think you are an idiot. I have no doubt we all sin day-in, and day-out. I believe in a higher power but I can't say I'm religious. And the piece, was a memorial tribute to those I love, and was not a representation of my religious beliefs.
