How does the G8 hurt the American economy? GM needs cars like this if they want to survive and if i'm not mistaken GM's demise would hurt the American economy not help it. GM owns Holden, anything good that comes out of Holden is going to benefit GM. Without the Holden platform there would mightn't be a Camaro which would be a shame because it is such an awesome looking car (I am not blinded by patriotism).
And I agree about the styling, Pontiac uglified it. The aussie version looks much better

That's a stupid thing to say if you ask me. It is basically the opposite of what America is all about and what made America great - free trade. Long term it would be a bad situation for the car companies not to mention the consumers would lose out.
If the American car industry wants to survive, it is simple what it has to do. It has to build better, more modern cars and stop relying on SUV's and Pickup Trucks to pin up their companies and by the looks of it they've already started doing that.

Yeah we're happy we have the G8, but don't rub it in our face. GM owns Holden, and they worked together to make the Commodore/G8 a Team effort. It's not a constant battle between Australia and America over the same car. And for MoparERnoCAR: So the G8 all of a sudden hurts the economy because your Charger has finally been beat? It doesn't work like that. If anything, the Charger looks like a bipolar Avenger....
