Musicians evolve after a while man. They felt the need to try new musical approaches, a lot of times musicians just get tired of playing the same style all the time, and this is the result of that. Sure it might not be as fast paced as their earlier stuff but it's still great if you ask me. They just wanted to expand their horizons, they're allowed to do that.

Never one to be narrow minded, but I'm old punker from back in the day. In the mid 80's, a lot of punk bands did this same exact move, though I'll never understand why. Anyway when they did, I said "later"! Perhaps I'm stuck in an era, when it comes to CERTAIN things. Just gimme some of that old school punk rock and I'll be forever in a slam pit...even when I'm in my 90's! I agree to disagree. In short, the early days of punk rock were raw, amazing & fresh. I'm glad I was there!

Well everbody has their own taste in music, I like old school punk as well, I just think it's cool when band's experiment sometimes. If you don't mix it up a little it'll get boring. Would you actually want every Black Flag album to sound the same? Cause I know I wouldn't.

Im Hardcore Black Flag fan ,I love all the albums they did but i gotta say...fuck metal! , every band was turning metal mid 80's and just fucked up the whole thing.
I prefer the fast , real , raw , fuck mainsream! hardcore , metalheads EAT SHIT! THIS PUNK WONT BOW DOWN TO METAL.

Anybody who says they don't like Henry Rollins or thinks he's fake or a sellout, all I have to say to you is read some of his books, he is one of the realist most incredible thinkers of I've read. He thinks in a way that most people can't begin to grasp, trust me there's a lot more to this guy then just a screaming tattoed macho guy that you might might see him as. He is a brilliant mind.

I think after some of their output in '84 being a little hit and miss, BF's 1985 releases- Loose Nut & In My Head albums were solid. Some good stuff on them. Personally I love these albums. IMH has some great tunes on it and I love how depressing it is.
