Anything involving David McCullough is gold...i did not realive he was involved with this project. I recommend reading his book "John Adams"...i really need to see this series. (Although Alex. Hamilton was my fav. founder. I hope this movie gives him the justice he deserves)

This movie made me feel like a piece of human waste. What is sad is that its principles will not carry us past 300 years. We're going toward a North American union and no one is taking up arms. The revolutionary war started when the English tried to take gun powder from the militia in Concord and Lexington. They are taking our guns away so we can be destroyed.

Oh? Pray tell, what are your history credentials. McCullough was advising the whole time for this, and the research for it was impeccable. Twit.

Even Adams, later in life admitted that this was a mistake. He had more integrity in his little finger than any politician today could ever hope for.

Please, you Americans have in Barack Obama a man with more integrity than those founding fathers. He will save your pitiful USA.

The production, casting, music, etc. were wonderful. However, it was too pc for me.
Just my opinion.

This is good stuff very well done going through and seeing what our founding fathers were like. It is perfect how they talk about the other family members like Charles being the alcholic, Abigial (the daughter)how they did breast surgery back then by basically chopping her breast off, John Quincy becoming the president later. Very good series 5 stars.

I grew up literally around the corner from the adams' birthplaces (the farm where he teaches john quincy about farming and announces to him that he is going to be a lawyer like himself) the attention to detail is unbelievable. the two houses are absolute replicas of the real ones on franklin st in quincy, ma. ironic that the two houses are situated on "franklin st". the scenery is much different today there is nothing agricultural about it. mcculloch and hanks are genuises!

My family trained two of the teams of oxen used in the movie (milking shorthorn oxen). Their names are Duke and Dan, and Red and Rusty. We got to visit the set in Richmond, VA. Everything looked so realistic. It was an awesome experience!
Just finished ... ( 1 month ago by mortsey)
Just finished watching the series, excellent and well made. I loved the political dialogue in the first few episodes, after that show became less political and a little more melodramatic (family, friends, relationships etc.) Also I found the span of time in the last few episodes a bit confusing. First 3 or 4 took place over 10-12 years last 4 took over 40 years. It was almost hard to follow the chorology. I found myself wishing for a timeline. Those were the only faults I could find in the show.
Alexander Hamilton ... ( 1 month ago by mortsey)
Alexander Hamilton looks like a corrupt and crooked political manipulator pulling the strings behind the scenes in this show. His character is not well developed and therefore it almost seems that only his faults are shown. Hope you are not disapointed. Just the same watch the show, You will not be disapointed with it overall.

What an ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE tv show this was. Every scene is either Paul Giamatti losing his temper and screaming, or Laura Linney crying over something. John Adams seemed like he needed to be committed to a mental institution, at least in this series.

John Adams, a unitarian, signed the Treaty of Tripoli. Article 11 stating that "As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions..."

Mcullough's book was really good and I am an admirer of John Adams historically, BUT I was dissapointed in the series mainly because Paul Giammoti, while being a wonderful actor was miscast here. He looked like an italian guy dressed up in a high school play while making funny expressions trying to do an english accent. Others will disagree but it just didn't work for me. I'll have to read more books...
