When the USA shocked Russia, 4-3, at the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics, Curt Chaplin was covering the game as a sports reporter for the ABC Radio Network. Standing on a camera platform in the crowd, he did play-by-play of the entire game into his tape recorder, capturing the event on tape forever. Now, after 25 years, these tapes have been rediscovered and matched to the video. The result is a dramatic, stirring and completely original experience for sports fans all over the world. | Sorry to tell you, many Youtubers who remember the Miracle On Ice are not really familiar with cricket (me too!), so the negative ratings you got there are worth it. It's easy for you to say you don't appreciate the 'magnititude' of it because India is not an ice hockey country. |

| As a Canadian, I'm not ashamed to admit I well up when I see this only because of how much impact this had not only in the hockey world,but outside of it as well. The Soviets at this time were the best team in the world and a bunch of collage kids beat them. It sends goosebumps down my spine. |
