| Why don't you just go shoot down a band then. I'd way rather have people put their emotion through musical expression than shooting up a school. What's wrong is people with a negative outputs who do nothing but criticize and destroy then justify it in their heads. |

| I'm more confused about why this is what is wrong with this country. Deerhoof is fairly indie... they don't represent the culture as a whole. The culture as a whole is better represented by shit like Soulja Boy. That is what is wrong with this country. |

| I was attracted to listening to this band BECAUSE they're weird. Mainstream music is often, for me at least, boring, flat, recycled crap. But this band is kind of..a mishmash of alot of different things, and for that I appreciate them, for havng a different, experimental sound. *thinks they're awesome* |

| these people are talented as hell, but their music is boring. it's not experimental, it's derivative. and that's fine, except when you try so hard to be wacky! and crazy! and new! when it's really just pop music with an extra gimmick (crazy japanese girl vocals! wacky art music video! they're SUPPOSED to sound unrehearsed, yet polished!) being weird on purpose, call it experiemental, whatever, it's just so pathetic and uncreative. i guess that's why my band will never play the knitting factory. |

| Well, you can't fault the BAND for the video. I agree that the whole noise, Captain Beefheart part of their "sound" is a bit passe, but I still like what I've heard of them (even though that's such a cardinal element of their music). Underneath it all, they seem to have an excellent melodic sense, as you can hear in this song. |

| I'm not sure what "talented as hell" means, in that case. Technically proficient? A big part of why I like Deerhoof is their ability to balance their more outre aspects with a really accessible pop style (and I don't think ANYONE would call them a "pop" group). I love great experimental music, but it's not that hard to make music that no-one likes, ya know? |

| you know puncrocks, it's funny you should judge this band for, of all things, not being unique or creative. Punk involves, what, power chords and maybe the occasional major chord? oh and it's not self-indulgent like other passe types of rock and roll, right? correct me if i'm wrong, but punk rock hasn't resembled anything remotely unique or creative since the early 80's. oh and guess what, Deerhoof is better than your band will ever be. |
