I saw them on that tour when they played in a town(does pop 591 constitute a town?) called Shinrone in Offaly here in Ireland. one of the best gigs i was ever at, also saw Arlo Guthrie play in the same place.

Got "Whole of the Moon on my Ipod" forgot how absolutely amazing the album was. Mike Scott is not just a songwriter/poet - the variation in the styles of each song is wonderful. Saw them live over 20 years can still remember it like it was yesterday!

okee9 Checked out Arlo Guthrie as I had never heard of him. Strikes me as being a bit of a storyteller/poet as well as a songwriter. Would you class him folk/country western?

He'd be more Folk, he's the son of Woody Guthrie a very famous musician who was a major influence on Bob dylan, Woody was around in the Dustbowl era. He wrote "This Land is you Land" among many other songs. If you get the opportunity listen to Arlo's song "Alices Restaurant" it's a 1/2 hour long, It's hilarious, there was a film made based around it.
