I believe the part that he is analyzing on 3:55 is supposed to be the first verse of Lateralus. "Black then white are all I see in my infancy..." Then he puts it on the snare instead then speeds it up to later introduce his own little beat. I really don't think he's playing Lateralus but rather just highlighting key signature he's using? He should've used a different title rather than use Danny Carey's name or Lateralus and get everyone's hopes up.

It doesn't really matter if he can outdrum everybody on Youtube, since his videos take 4 minutes before he even starts talking about what the video is about. And then, it turns out, he only talks about this beat from Lateralus for twenty seconds. It's a ten minute video, he's way to windy about it, and he's boring. I would love to learn all the moves in his videos but I don't have the strength to sit through them.

the thing i dont think you people realise is the fact that hes not teaching you how to play lateralus, but rather danny carreys concept of the song and the way he plays on the track. the other thing is "hes to windy about the whole thing" THE GUY IS PRESENTING A RADIO/TELEVISION SHOW if he wasnt "WINDY" he wouldnt have the job as a television/radio presenter would he. if you were eager enough to learn the guys technique it doesnt mater about his "windy"ness, its the technique that youd listen to

this guy is very skilled in terms of rudiments and time signatures (watch his other vids, pretty amazing stuff), but I can't get what the hell he thinks this has to do with anything from Lateralus though, all I heard him say was one time signature and then these famous words "the rythym itself didnt really mean that much to me." Okay?!? Then you're not really analyzing what Danny played then are you. Just playing in one time sig from one part of the song doesnt really connect with it at all.
