Hound Dog Taylor & Little Walter - Wild About you baby

Uploaded by: Bluesboy89
Video Description:
Hound Dog Taylor & the Houserockers featuring Little Walter on harmonica. This was back in 1967.
My account was deleted a while ago so I re-uploaded this one again. I thought it was kind a shame this one was deleted of youtube because we had some very nice discussions going, with even people like Billy Branch commenting!

@Myblackass: Taylor died 17 Dec.1975 & was born 1917. Walter Marion Jacobs died already in 1968, born 1930 and was indeed one of the greatest Harmonica players of all times!!
@slickskillet123: you ought to be ashamed of yourself !! If you don't understand this music, you make a dumb fool of yourself when commenting.

listen ball lickin jones dull note for note facsimiles i would take anyday. Bharath and his band sre the best blues band on the planet and how you feel that you can come on here and slam a mans lifetime of work with obviously no inteligence or thought is beyond me. Bhaarth and his band are the perfect example of what it means to play as a band and pay attention and play with feel. I don't know if you play or not but i shutter to think of what you sound like if you can't appreciate Bharath.

PS you're a dumb fuck!
I'd say that ... ( 2 weeks ago by bucolicjones)
I'd say that Bharath and his band are probably the best Little Walter tribute band on the planet. If I wanted to go and hear note for note Little Walter music that was not quite as good as the originals I'd go and see the rhythm 4. just like if I wanted to hear note for note Led Zep music that was not quite as good as the originals I'd go and see a Led Zep Tribute band. When little Walter played - he played his own unique style. Come back to me when Bharath and co have found their own style!

let's hear some of your stuff... If it's so uncool to not be original and opy little walter why is it that every harp player worth his salt tries to? Walter is the perfect harp player to listen to to learn and Bharath loves it and plays what he loves and i've seen him have a room full of 20 year olds jumpin and screamin to music from the 50's.
If you watch him ... ( 2 weeks ago by shrimpdaddy)
If you watch him properly you'll find that it's not so much the notes as the feel of little walter that he's copying. His talent is undeniable don't just spout off shit to sound like a conesseur cause you don't you sound more like a moron.
Hey - I don't play ... ( 2 weeks ago by bucolicjones)
Hey - I don't play I'm afraid - I'd love to have the talent! All I can say is - Little Walter, Junior Wells, Carey Bell, James Cotton, Sonny Boy 1 and 11, Walter Horton all had their own sound, their own Identity. That I respect. Little Walter would be laughing his ass off if he heard someone copying him so avidly! He hated that! Read some of the interviews with him. He respected creators like Sonny Boy 1. I will look forward to the day Bharath becomes a creator too!
you obviously ... ( 2 weeks ago by shrimpdaddy)
you obviously haven't heard Bharath's CD cause there are originals on there but they are so authentic Chicago blues that you probably thought they were covers if you even bothered to listen before you let your mouth go prior to thinking for a second. I can't believe someone who doesn't even play would have so much to say. You seem to have somne knowledge of Harmonica players but, investigate before you just spout off remarks.
Bharath has ... ( 2 weeks ago by shrimpdaddy)
Bharath has captured the feel of walter and as far as walter laughing at him i would doubt that very highly when, Louis myers, (you know who that is?) and Jr Watson (who plays on Bharath's CD) hold Bharath in the highest regard as do I, and he is a very close personal friend of mine... so do everyone a favor and talk about something you know something about.
I know and respect ... ( 2 weeks ago by bucolicjones)
I know and respect both those guys. I always remember reading an article by Bob Margolin in which recounted playing the same bill as Buddy Guy. Bob did a couple of Muddy songs with note for note Muddy slide solos. Buddy said after -those are mighty big shoes you are trying to fill. Bob said - I'm just trying to keep a litle polish on 'em. I don't think note for note facsimiles work. They are like too accurate waxworks that you see at musty musuems. Creepy in their slavish attention to detail.
Anyway - I'm just ... ( 2 weeks ago by bucolicjones)
Anyway - I'm just about done on the subject. Good debating with you. I've checked out your videos singing and playing with the band. You must understand that I do enjoy what both you and Bharath do-traditional covers of traditional blues. What I'm interested in finding is the next Little Walteresque artistic harmonica genius. Do you think the world will ever see one again? I want to hear the same level of blues artistry in a modern setting. Ricci just don't get my vote I'm afraid:(

Actually my friend ... we're not a cover band ... we only post the little walter stuff on you tube because thats what people want ... at the risk of looking like one , I post them anyways because I want people to have fun with them ... As for copying Walter ... Ive been though this already a million times ... first of all ... Im far from nailing it note for note ...

secondly ... I guess you dont go to too many mozart recitals do you, and scold at the conductor, for doing the song properly? ... and thirdly ... research a little more ... ALOT of walters songs are note for note replicas of songs by other people ...

I don't want or care if you like our music , you're free to believe whatever you want , however , don't ever question "my own voice" , this music saved my life from extremely dangerous lifestyle , and I owe it everything I have now ... If you believe that only black people with no teeth can play this music , I can't help you ... otherwise , you need to look deeper inside yourself and find inspiration for yourself ...

Thank's for posting Little Walter. I was looking for his "Tell me momma" and was only able to find some white dudes imitating him. Imitation is never an original.
