I agree. All the high-tech means anyone can purchase a "working ball", as we used to call it, instead of developing one. I'm glad I learned with polyester and hard rubber bowling balls! Give the majority of bowlers a hard rubber or polyester ball nowadays and see how they do!!!
even more important ... ( 11 months ago by dettigs)
even more important are the lane oiling and stripping machines. lanes years ago were stripped by hand, once or twice a week maybe. today you can strip the last 20 feet every time you oil, ensuring a nice sharp hook for pin carry

Awesome video, goes to show what bowlers do face. More than just throwing a ball down a lane hoping for a strike. Professional Bowlers need more recognition, they deserve it. Unfortunately theres people who don't believe it is a "true sport". Reason is, they don't know about this stuff!! ^^^^^^^^^

amen to that. i'm a newer bowler (only 5 years and 216 avg) but i thrive on accuracy and power. i can take a plastic ball and nail the pocket. to me plastic is easier than reactive :P btw check out the buzzsaw xxxl plastic ball with diamond hooking core

Hmmm... the Buzzsaw XXXL is interesting to say the very least. I reckon I'll have to modify my statement above by saying a hard rubber or polyester ball with an old-fashioned symmetrical core. Thanks for alerting me to the existence of the XXXL- looks cool.

yea this ball is nice and controlled. no extreme snap. and still requires you to have some skill unlike the uber reactive balls of today. i've bowled a 290 with mine

yea. i think it's crazy though cuz i've watched all this stuff on the history channel and modern marvels and almost everything they report about is "discovered by accident"

I would not. If there is an actual crack in it, it is faulty, and you should not use it. If it's a scratch, then it's ok.
