It's a well known "soldiers song" in northern Europe. I like to call it the Nazi anthem.
The medal: 1st class war merit cross (Kriegsverdienstkreuz) was a decoration of Nazi Germany during the Second World War it could be given to civilians as well as military personnel. This medal was created by Adolf Hitler in 1939 as a successor to the non-combatant Iron Cross which was used in ear
lier wars. That's all it's just my channel icon.

Not all Germans think the way you think they do. I am a full German by birth location, and I myself am astonished at what my beloved, tolerent nation became in WWII. It was for a misguided Austrian-Scandinavian pride really. Jews had helped Germany since the Seven Years war in commerce and trade and the Aryan is from the North and East of Europe. It was all made up and Hitler bought it like an Iphone. Also the Waffen-SS wasn't like the real SS, it rarly took part in the murders of so many.

Almost every single Waffen-SS division was charged with war crimes. It's astonishing how these sycophants try to whitewash that organization. There were personnel exchanged between the Waffen SS ans what you call the "real" SS. And from where to you think the Totenkopf Division got much of its initial personnel?

Hundreds of thousands of Eastern Europeans were forced to fight in the Waffen SS during WWII, this occured after Germany occupied these countries -- only German citizens could fight in the Wermacht. The SS was the political arm of the German army. The Eastern Europeans did not pledge their allegianece to Nazi ideology, but instead took an oath to fight the bolsheviks.

The song itself is great. I am not a particular fan of nazi nor have any relation to its history, nor am I a german. However I plan to take the song, and create my own words for it. And then I plan to sing it along with my group in a picnic. Is it ok to do that ? :)
