Good to hear disney made her better. I love Esmerelda! A real woman, not one of those faiting grrls disney use to make, where the poor guy did all the work. They made Esmerelda refreshingly independent. Don't get me wrong you gotta enjoy Sleeping Beauty, Snow white, Jasmine, etc for their traits too. I just love Belle and Esmerelda. Its good to hear others understand my opinion well, and agree with me :)

amen to that! Especially when she tells off Frollo! then when she's cornered disappears into a puff of smoke. I love that part!!! LMAO. Yeah she's the best heroine ever. I love Hunchback it's one of my favourites, I like that Disney did a more mature movie, even if it's not close to the book it still has a darker and more mature feel to it. I like the other heroines but Esmeralda is the coolest. Disney did a great job giving her a make over, and they gave Phoebus a good makeover too.

Woot! You said it! After I saw that movie long ago when it first came out, I had the hugest crush on Pheobus. What a great hero he is! And he just believes in the law, justice, and right and wrong. A simple kind of guy. I love his sense of humor and heart. He never judged nor feared Quazzi either for being different. I loved him for that!

I like Phoebus a lot, he's a refreshing change and he has spunk. Achilles sit! lmao. I think he deserves Esmeralda, lots of people hate him I guess they think Quasi should get her, but at least Quasi accepts it. I saw the movie when it came out too, I was 14 at the time. I read the book the year after and again when I was in OAC (I'm canadian and in Ontario we had a year in high school after grade 12).

When I saw the movie, and saw the hurt in Quasi knowing he cared for Esmerelda I did feel bad. But as the viewer of the film truly later you see he realized he only cared for her with admiration. I don't think it was that kind of love Pheobus felt for her. And you know cuz you see what happens in The Hunchback 2. Does that all make sense?

I think I know what you're saying. Phoebus admired her spirit and fire he loved her in a romantic sense, and appreciated her independence.
I haven't seen the sequel but apparently lots of people don't like it. I have my own fanfic girl who falls in love with and marries Quasi

Exactly, I think Pheobus loved Esmerelda in a romantic way. nd I think Quasi loved Esmerelda in only an admiration kinda way but misunderstood his feelings. If I am correct then everyone can be put as ease and be happy for Pheobus and Esmerelda. If I am wrong . . . hahaha I am never wrong! :) The second one is good, but only okay. Not a movie I'd buy, but at least you saw Quasi fall for someone and them fall for him.

that sums it up, and Quasi accepted it at the end. Esmeralda sees Quasi for who he is and respects him and that's something frollo never showed.
It seems to me Disney has gone sequel happy, and that they tried to make a kid-friendly sequel to a more mature movie. Its good Quasi finds love. I saw a site dedicated to Quasi's fanfic girl friends. My character is named Callista and she is Frollo's daughter (I know he never married I changed t
hat)
