No more "yea", but ... ( 2 months ago by Encyclopeteia)
No more "yea", but people who don't vote for either republicans or democrats are either not voting or wasting their votes on candidates that have 0% chance of winning any election. These self righteous types who think they're bad-asses need to quit wasting their time on the Ralph Nader's of the world and instead focus on publicly funded elections.
Deliberate ... ( 2 months ago by garymull2)
Deliberate distortion. (why am I not surprised?) Releasing somebody's private conversation that you wire-tapped is NOT the same as having your phone company turn over foreign phone numbers you may have called to the government, so it can help them to target potential terrorists. COMPLETELY different.
I agree that there ... ( 2 months ago by nugen966)
I agree that there is a difference, but I cannot believe that this administration uses this wire-tapping just for counter- terrorist activities. Based upon their history, I cannot believe anything this admin. says. This guy that sued sets the bench mark. If you are being wire-tapped and you have no ties to any terrorist group, whether extended family or nationality or gender or age, you should be able to sue and win. This whole republican thing is foolish to me.
Why? Democracy is ... ( 2 months ago by colster4life)
Why? Democracy is not only about the two corporate powerhouses known as the Democrats and Republicans. I remember the subtle bullying used by some Gore people in 2000 asking Nader to drop out for the 'greater good', yet it was those corrupt GOP members down in Florida who really screwed him.
Publicly funded ... ( 2 months ago by Encyclopeteia)
Publicly funded elections, not more parties who get nowhere, are the only way to really change anything. Period. Take most of the financial influence out of it and you eliminate much of the core problem with both parties.

you can find more bullshit from the republican party than you could at a texas cattle ranch........unless that ranch is located in crawford ,texas.
Thank you for at ... ( 2 months ago by garymull2)
Thank you for at least conceding my point. I'm so tired of all this BS against Republicans. It's getting to be like the Jews in early Nazi Germany...blame everything on Republicans. Where is the intellectual honesty, and reasoned discourse?? I'm really sick of all the emotionally-charged, mindless demogougery. Yes, the Republicans, under Bush, have not done a good job articuating the reasoning behind some of their actions, but much of it is good. (not just "well intentioned").
Of course they ... ( 2 months ago by stuntmasta305)
Of course they haven't, the incompetence of this administration is stunning. The phobia of terrorist attacking this country is also phenomenal.

I put the blame of politicians, that covers the whole gambit. As far as the good they have done, would have to say for whom. From 9/11, to Katrina, to free trade, to oil prices, etc. Whatever good this administration has done, it pales in comparison to what it has not done. This admin. has been very good to those who are wealthy. This is not a blanker statement to all repubs. There is so much hyprocracy with this admin. that they have turn me against repubs. in general politically speaking.

Wanting to protect the country from terrorists is a PHOBIA?? Do you leave your doors unlocked? No? Maybe you are burgler-phobic? LOL

lol whatever. Liberalism is what made this country. Boener is a moron. Think what you want, there aren't any true conservatives in this country unless you include Ron Paul. The reason you believe God can conquer liberalism is because you still believe in that bullshit religion that is just another form of supersticious nonsense.

Last time I Checked, the only person who has done me harm is the guy down the street. But, I'll keep an eye open for the big bad terrorists in the meantime ;)
Yeah, if the ... ( 2 months ago by daotien26)
Yeah, if the program was regulated. Problem is that there isn't much oversight into who's phones are being tapped and for what reason. Again, agree that foreign comms should be monitered if they are going out to dangerous people, problem is who determines what lines are tapped and for what reason.

Before you reply back, look up McCarthyism. The U.S is not perfect.
Wire tapping deals ... ( 2 months ago by Pigprophet)
Wire tapping deals with tapping the phones of people OUTSIDE the US who want to do us harm who are calling INTO the US- not wiretapping US citizens. Of course, as far as democRATs are concerned, terrorists are just as good as, and usually better than US citizens and should be afforded MORE rights than an American. Hey- can I be an "undocumented lover" and rape your wife when you're not home?? Oh- I'll want amnesty afterwards. And free healthcare for the crabs your skank will give me.
We should ... ( 2 months ago by eirefrance)
We should acknowledge that there is a difference in the two cases. One involves the govt in its official capacity as protector of citizens and the other involves what sounds like a private individual pulling some Watergate shit. Still, the quote you gave was very telling.

ITS CALLED KARMA, the stupid poor inbreds in "fly over country" voted for Bush who has ruined the economy. Now that they are feeling the pain of their stupidity why should they get sympathy for what they did? Thats why nobody is going to shed a tear for those bastards, they caused this whole mess.
