I'm not disagreeing ... ( 3 days ago by ValeofBlackRoses)
I'm not disagreeing with you on that point, but you have to remember that the elitist nature of the Ancient Greek society segregated heavily based on cultural origin. Take Athens, for example, anybody who was not born and raised there was considered a barbarian without exception, and as such were treated as such (meaning that sculptures and artwork of them would not be nearly as prevalent as native Athenians). Also, many myths speak of Greek racial physiology to support this.

"Barbarian" to ... ( 3 days ago by CanoPinto)
"Barbarian" to ancien greeks wasnt used like we does and Roman did. "Barbarian" to us means "savage, primitives", to ancian greeks, it cames from "bla, bla, bla", those who speak another language. That is the reason Herodoto spoke well about Persian
´s society but call them "barbarians".

ok, well in all ... ( 3 days ago by ValeofBlackRoses)
ok, well in all fairness, I am no expert and could be wrong. Still, typically the sculptures were presumed to be of Greek origin representing Greek-born citizens since they were typically of various high-ranking officials in the government and the gods, whom adopted Greek racial identity. Again, this is just speculation, but then again, so is any theory (one of the flaws of inductive reasoning, but not unreconcilible).

I desagree with you ... ( 3 days ago by CanoPinto)
I desagree with you. Ancian greek society didnt segregated based on cultural origin. In greek mythology all mankind was created by Olimpic
´s gods. They believed their neighbors was descendents from greek heroes: Persians was from Perseus, a great Athenian hero; Medos from Medea; Scithians and another peoples from Hercules. The segregation was not cultural or racial, but political. Anyone whose ancestor was born out the city-state was
segregated, even another greeks.

like I said, it was just my speculation and I could be wrong. To them, culture and politics were pretty close to one another (since most people from a given city never left that city even once during their lives, and each city bore its own unique culture, specifically many had particular patron gods or goddesses whose worshipers followed different tenets, such as was stated by Socrates' discussion on piety in his Apology), but again this is just speculation.
In the actual book ... ( 2 days ago by kadfjkdf)
In the actual book the Iliad, Hector was actually chased by Achilles around the city three times, also, the God's were a big variable in the fight. But they didn't mention that in the movie. I bet they never even read the book the iliad. Anyone here ever read the book the iliad?

Paris doesn't even shoot Achilles in the Iliad. it is a "known fact" in mythological terms that Paris did kill Achilles, as evidenced by the Odyssey, but it didn't happen in the Iliad.

Their shields are relatively the same size. And the reason behind that would be for visibility, less weight and it served the purpose to block as well as store their sword.
