I love it!
I love the clash and their problem with authority! Just like in "know your rights" this song is about the crime ridden province of london, the police would literally search every one for no reason, no warrents ever.

punk doesnt need "roots" to keep it in place. it happened and thats that...usually in music roots refers to bands that had aspects of punk before the late 70s like the new york dolls. the clash were later went punk was huge.

So what? Gnarls Barkley is good. I listen to all kinds of music. Maybe you should get out more. And why the hell do you think I'm a man MAN. The Clash have reggae in there music. Hell, they even have early hip hop. They had Grand Master Flash open for them. Gnarls Barkley even has the clash in their "smiley faces" video.
