Walmart has virtually no power in the West Coast. In a little city called Eureka, CA, Walmart tried to build a store on an old Montgomery Ward site. The townsfolk voted against having a Walmart store built there, but allowed Target. So Target it was.

Wow its funny did you notice what else went up with the walmart?? culvers and Petsmart... hmmmm... It looks like more jobs to me... I am pretty sure that walmart researched your area. you know why, because they are one of the few retailers who are committed to green, may be you should go in there and see how they save energy, or recycle almost everything they get.

Nothing wrong with Walmart being a well run business. They are offering plenty of jobs to help these small towns out with employment. I think people hack on Walmart just to cut it down.

Walmart does offer a large amount of jobs to the towns/cities they reside in, but they're also wiping out alot of smaller buisnesses with better quality and more locally manufactured producs. Most if not all the products purchaced by Walmart come from China and other countries, this in turn taking more important, higher paying, jobs away from many Canadians and Americans.

It is also a great eyesore for a small community. Once you allow large corporate multinational businesses into a small comunity you lose alot of the communities history.

Ok I'm from here and this video is cute and clever but let's be honest, quite misleading. You guys may have gotten a good grade, or whatever--but, Wal-Mart is not taking over "small-town" Haslett. You forgot to mention and show the giant Meijer just down the road, the abundant amount of strip malls, plazas and restaurants and the Meridian Mall also located just down the road.

Looks like most of the residents like WalMart. The parking lot looked pretty full in the shot of the jester trying to snowball the WalMart sign. When the Meerkats grow up and get jobs to support themselves, they will enjoy the low prices, always.

thank you for the great video. Wal mart is coming into too many small towns, with thier lower prices than small private businesses and the private businesses are all getting shut down because everyone goes to walmart for everything

first off we are not a democracy, but a republic and democracy exist in the form of capitalism meaning if enough people in your town cared about the marshlands then they would not have ot buy at walmart meaning it would move location once the cost of maintaince became higher than profit. 2nd who cares about a marshland. not me and obviousley not your town cause they shop at the stores.
