Yes, you being one of those who make everyone else feel more intelligent. How foolish are you? You're talking about mutli-million dollar WRC teams. Do you think they just slap on wings without testing them extensively aerodynamically in wind tunnels? It ISN'T for regulations. The wing is EFFECTIVE on ALL types of surfaces, why would what the car was traveling over matter? You are one ignorant fool.

That link itself should end all of your ignorant pathetic arguments. That is raw footage that flat out contradicts everything you said. Also note how all the cars near the end of the video jump at a flat angle, while the Subaru without the wing completely nose dives with so much lift at the rear.

actually, thats a blow-off valve, wastegates allow excess exhaust to bypass the turbo, to prevent overbossting the turbo.

Actually - that is the sound of the turbo's compressor wheel coming to a complete and sudden stop - very detrimental to the turbo system, also an indicator why race cars and the like suffer catastrophic failure with regularity and are in need of support teams with mechanics and quantified engineers and builders. Blow-off valves are NOT allowed in WRC competition.

That's not an Evo, it's the WRC04 or 05 (can't tell which from the video, they basically look the same). The chirping noise is known as "wastegate chatter" but is actually caused by the turbo's compressor stalling.

Oh well, if your brother works for Ralliart you must be right. You've asked your brother have you? I used to work for MMSP (formerly Ralliart) in Rugby, I worked on THAT FUCKING CAR. And I can assure you it's a LANCER WRC05 and not the Lancer Evo. If your brother currently works for MMSP then he probably does work on the Evo (the works car), but the car in the video is not the Evo! "Fact." (Who the fuck says 'fact' anyway? Are you David Brent?)

yes, not an EVO WRC. because the last known LANCER EVO that went to WRC is the EVO VII, after that, its just the Lancer. The Lancer is a "road legal production car" but it "has been modified" thats why it now has awd and 4g63t. If you know what an evo 9 looks like then you'll knot that the car on the video isn't an evo 9... It migh be a 2007 Lancer WRC but not an evo.....

the sound is the compressed air (boost) escaping when the driver lifts off of the throttle. all turbo cars must release the boost pressure when the driver lifts or else the mixture would be too lean and destroy the motor. the compressor wheel cannot come to a complete and suppen stop unless it siezes. momentum keeps it moving even after the engine is shut off. thats why turbo timers allow the car to idle and let the turbo get oil while the compressor wheel slowly comes to a stop

anti-lag kit??? rally cars lag horribbly but they are geared so they are always revving high enough to be making good boost, effectively eliminating lag
