Sometimes I get so involved in Tori's less accessible stuff that I forget about some other songs. I've recently rediscovered Cornflake Girl (can you believe it?!). It truly is such an amazing song! This is from the Dew Drop Inn tour. Tori actually mentions YKTR before playing it, she looks a bit embarrassed. It also features a short version of the CG dance as well as an unrestricted view of her hands on the keys (breathtaking) and lots of very cute grimacing.

Tori has described it as being about betrayal among women. The cornflake girls are the ones who betray, the ones whom you find a lot of in the cereal box. The raisin girls are harder to find but they are the ones who refuse to play the backstabber role that the patriarchy make them play. Female genital mutilation is normally done by women and it is the mothers who take the daughters to be mutilated.

THANK YOU NBM!!! I have been looking for a clean view of her keyboard on Cornflake Girl: One of the most sophisticated pop piano compositions in the last 40 yrs (IMO one has to go back to Bernstein). this shows just how much more talented Tori is than any of her peers.
