FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, PEOPLE, I KNOW THERE ARE MISTAKES!!!! I AM NOT A NATIVE SPEAKER AS I HAVE POINTED OUT. And yes, I know the last lyrics are wrong at the part where Mate is doing his solo thing, but now my subtitler is throwing a fit and won't let me fix it. Disclaimer #1: I love Elisabeth,
but this video is not mine, so please buy the DVD to continue the love! Disclaimer #2: I do not speak German. I have google and a huge langensheidt dictionary to help me, but sometimes neither one makes sense when I am trying to figure out a translation. I know my translations are not perfect (a
nd in some cases outright wrong) so if you see something incorrect please tell me and I'll try to post a corrected version.

You can buy it on the Sound of Music shop, which has an English-language option on its website. This video is subtitled by me--the only subtitles available are on the Sammler-edition of the dvd, and the subtitles are only on the extras, not on the musical itself.

Ah, bother... well, even without English subtitles it looks well worth the buy. Thanks for the rec--I'll look it up. Would you recommend buying the Sammler Edition, or is there a better DVD to be bought?

I LOVE this! If you buy the DVD, do you have to like get it converted into American DVD format to play it on the US DVD players? Just wondering, cause I'd like to buy the DVD but I'm in the US.

The dvd players can be kind of picky. The dvd is region zero, which is supposed to be neutral, while the US is region one. My dvd player won't play it, and my mac gets picky when trying to play it (it used to ask if I wanted to change the region code to play it, and you can only change it five times, but now I can play any region zero/one dvd). My old pc laptop didn't have a problem with it. And game consoles won't play it. There are dvd players out there that play all region codes.

Oh he followed the libretto--the libretto is only the text, after all. He just didn't follow what every other actor did with the character.

Alright guys, what is actually the problem with the translation? Alexandrakl did a pretty good job on this one. She got the idea behind the words and that is the point. One does not have to translate it word by word. Then it would sound pretty weird in english. Love the vid. Thanks
