I time use engines. and yes, it IS cheaper to produce power out of imports; u get less hp per $ in stock cars, but when it comes to upgrading, imports are way ahead. thinif u put 2 bigger turbos on skyline, u get around 600HP with NO other mods like cams, injectors etc. show me an american 6 cyl engine which produces 600HP with just 2 turbos AND can be driven daily..... same with 300ZX TT, 500HP with just bigger turbos.

Hey man, if you put two bigger turbos on a skyline, you'll have some trouble if you don't upgrade the other parts. Stock pistons? You'll burn a hole in one. Stock injectors? You'll run lean and melt your head. Stock cam? You'll run worth crap, and it might just break at the extra RPMs you run with more boost. Head bolts will also come out, your head will come off, valves will melt, and your head gasket will probably go. Without supporting mods, you'll blow your car to shit. Go ahead, try it.

Also, American 6 cylinder engines don't run boost, as we KNOW that six cylinders are not good for performance. That's why we run V8's. Show me a 6 cylinder where you can get 1600HP on E85 and drive it on the street. A guy build a Chevy 427ci V8 to that power level, in a street legal car. And this is on E85 that you can buy from a pump, NOT race gas. So don't bitch about the ONE 8 second skyline, as that thing runs on racing alcohol. Learn something before you start talking shit.

Um, it didn't throw a rod. If it had thrown a rod, the guy sure as hell wouldn't have been holding it in his hand. The white smoke means that the head gasket let go. They might have bent a rod, but it's unlikely.

Not necessarily. A 3.5L V8 would have basically no torque at all. Why do you think everyone makes a 5.0L or bigger V8? Jesus, even toyota is making a 5.7L V8. And then they brag about how they're beating other trucks in power when the other trucks have 5.0L engines. Also, that's why Suburbans and large SUV's like that have BIG V8 engines. Like a 1976 Cadillac- 5000#, and an 8.2L V8 engine. Lots of torque to move it, simply from the size of the engine. Honda doesn't know how to go big....

right... AMERICAN V6 engines are not good for performance so americans have to build V8s which still lose to euro/japanese 6 cyl engines. and is there any handling in that 1600HP chevy? Don't get me wrong, I actually like muscle cars and I was thinking of getting a mustang, but Imports dont suck as well. they all have weaknesses.

It's a drag car, it wasn't built to take corners. For cornering, you really don't want that much power, as you'll just break the rear tires loose a lot more and go slower.

I don't care how long the head bolts will hold, if you don't upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, you WILL run lean, and you WILL burn a piston or some valves. Also the extra RPMs you will see from increased boost would probably snap a connecting rod.....
