before i'd tried making the armatures out of plastic straws, pipe cleaners and thin crappy wire - thank god i found this video!! i never knew how to twist the wire lol! thanks so much :D

One thing you might want to think about doing is putting rare earth magnets in the feet, instead of those nuts. You're armature is going to have to balance on those, but with magnets, it'll have some sort force holding it to the stage.

This is a big help. I'm always cutting myself on the ones I make. I take it you can use air drying clay aswell? I usually use Mod Rock.

Nice armature, I usually use duct tape, cotton balls, and 1/16" aluminum wire, doubling up on the legs. The nice thing about this, is that you don't have to wait for anything to dry. I should post a tutorial of my armature design... I think it would save people a lot of time they could be using for something else.
