This song pretty much sums up all three books. It's brilliant.

Fantastic, thankyou so very much for putting this up, and with the actual comic too! (Don't let the silly little flamers detract from that)

good stuff. I hadn't heard that before - it's nice to have the song in my head when I read that part

I've just been watching the HD version of V for Vendetta and thought to look for this song - I read the original story in Warrior (perhaps the best monthly comics magazine ever!) and have loved Bauhaus for many years....
Good work!

True. I think it's the only major recorded verion ever, more accurately.
I like the accompaniments they did, though. Very nice, as Alan Moore only gives the vocal part.

The book, the song, and the movie were all incredible.
that movie was ... ( 1 month ago by josswhedon692)
that movie was unintelligent shit. it turned a book that dissected political ideas into an one-sided American action movie with Padme Amidala doing a terrible English accent. ("Vayy!") Instead of analyzing anarchy and fascism equally like in the book, it was just a movie about the heroic liberals and evil republicans. That kind white hats vs. black hats mentality pretty much defeats the purpose of the book. It's self-congratulatory mainstream bullfuck.

I beg to differ. It is true that I know not what makes for a good English accent, but I do know this: I went in to the movie for lack of anything better to do, without any clue what it was about or what the source material was. I saw it. I was surprised. I didn't know what to expect, and I came out blown away. My interpretation on first seeing was that I'd just seen a movie depict a terrorist -- somebody who blows up buildings and kills people for a self-flagellating sense of justice,
and he'd been the ... ( 1 month ago by nexthoudini)
and he'd been the hero. I hadn't read the graphic novel yet, though I still saw the chaos vs order undertones that most critics claim weren't there. The fascist government was brutal, but it DID unite the country. The movie wasn't black and white at all, and it had an antihero such as I've never seen before. The alliterative speeches were great, the literary references fairly well thought out, and the movie was in no sense unintelligent. It is the reason I read the graphic novel.
I agree that they ... ( 1 month ago by ninjapiratehybrid)
I agree that they probably shouldn't have changed the story as much as they did for the movie, but they did. We can't do anything about it now. So, if you look at the movie as being separate from the book, it really isn't that bad.

The Film changed Susan's last name to sutler in order to draw every last shred of humanity from the character. Sutler, eerily close to Hitler.

I also saw the movie one day, because some guy said it was good. And the movie did blow me away. I loved it. It was so realistic and political. Just great. Then I read the novel, which, to me is one of the best books ever written. So compared to the book, the movie kind of really stinks. But if you watch the movie and don
´t know the novel or take it into account it surely is a great pice. I wish someday someone would give Moore the chance to make a VfV Movie like he wishes to (if he wishes to).
The movie blew you ... ( 1 month ago by nexthoudini)
The movie blew you away on its own merits, and as such does not "kind of really stink" (even in comparison to the book). However, the movie does not reach the scope or complexity that the novel manages to. It is still a very good movie, but no very good movie can compare to a very good book it's based off of.
I do agree that the ... ( 3 weeks ago by katsinhatsx0x0)
I do agree that the movie was no where near as wonderful as the graphic novel, but it was still a really good movie.
and this song is amazing.

Alan Moore disowned the movie. They sugared the plot and simplified it. I like the movie, but I wish they hadn't done that. They should remake it with the original plot. I hope they do a better job with Watchmen.

I personally liked both the movie and the book. I suppose I'm somewhat unbiased because I read the book after I saw the movie. But, I do like the book more.
